Deep Nonlinear Metric Learning for Speaker Verification in the I-Vector Space

چکیده
Speaker verification is the task of determining whether two utterances represent the same person. After representing the utterances in the i-vector space, the crucial problem is only how to compute the similarity of two i-vectors. Metric learning has provided a viable solution to this problem. Until now, many metric learning algorithms have been proposed, but they are usually limited to learning a linear transformation. In this paper, we propose a nonlinear metric learning method, which learns an explicit mapping from the original space to an optimal subspace using deep Restricted Boltzmann Machine network. The proposed method is evaluated on the NIST SRE 2008 dataset. Since the proposed method has a deep learning architecture, the evaluation results show superior performance than some state-of-the-art methods. key words: speaker verification, restricted Boltzmann machine, nonlinear metric, deep learning

Deep Speaker Embeddings for Short-Duration Speaker Verification
The performance of a state-of-the-art speaker verification system is severely degraded when it is presented with trial recordings of short duration. In this work we propose to use deep neural networks to learn short-duration speaker embeddings. We focus on the 5s-5s condition, wherein both sides of a verification trial are 5 seconds long. In our previous work we established that learning a non-...
متن کاملA symmetric kernel partial least squares framework for speaker verification
I-vectors are concise representations of speaker characteristics. Recent progress in i-vectors related research has utilized their ability to capture speaker and channel variability to develop efficient automatic speaker verification (ASV) systems. Inter-speaker relationships in the i-vector space are nonlinear. Accomplishing effective speaker verification requires a good modeling of these non-...
متن کاملPair-Wise Distance Metric Learning of Neural Network Model for Spoken Language Identification
The i-vector representation and modeling technique has been successfully applied in spoken language identification (SLI). In modeling, a discriminative transform or classifier must be applied to emphasize variations correlated to language identity since the i-vector representation encodes most of the acoustic variations (e.g., speaker variation, transmission channel variation, etc.). Due to the...
متن کاملMulti-task learning for text-dependent speaker verification
Text-dependent speaker verification uses short utterances and verifies both speaker identity and text contents. Due to this nature, traditional state-of-the-art speaker verification approaches, such as i-vector, may not work well. Recently, there has been interest of applying deep learning to speaker verification, however in previous works, standalone deep learning systems have not achieved sta...
متن کاملDeep feature for text-dependent speaker verification
Recently deep learning has been successfully used in speech recognition, however it has not been carefully explored and widely accepted for speaker verification. To incorporate deep learning into speaker verification, this paper proposes novel approaches of extracting and using features from deep learning models for text-dependent speaker verification. In contrast to the traditional short-term ...
